Materials:
 |
Pinecone (buy them in a craft store, with potpourri,
or pick them up on a hike) |
 |
Fiberfill or cotton balls |
 |
Scraps of felt, construction paper, or lightweight
cardboard |
 |
Wiggly eyes (optional) |
 |
White Glue |
 |
Toothpick |
 |
Scissors |
How To:
 |
Cut out feet for your owl from a scrap of felt or
cardboard. Glue them to the bottom of the pine cone. To
help your owl stand up, try using cardboard under felt for stiffer
feet. |
 |
Poke small pieces of fiberfill or cotton into all of
the spaces in the pinecone. Use a toothpick to help get into
small cracks. |
 |
Make a beak, wings, and eyes for the owl from scraps
of felt or paper. Use white glue to attach them to the
pinecone. If you have wiggly eyes, use them! |
 |
Set your owl on your desk or shelf to remind you of
your Brownie Promise. |
Tip:
If you pick up pine cones on a hike, and they are
closed up bake them in the oven at 225 degrees for 15 minutes (or longer
if necessary). This should make the cones open.
